What do you do day to day?

I’ve been at Shoot the Moon for over a year, having recently moved into the role of Head of Social Content. It sounds cliché, but no two days are the same! The Social Content team at STM is quite unique – alongside managing both organic and paid social media activity for our clients, our skillset also stretches across wider content and campaign strategy, looking after everything from blogs and email newsletters to photography and video content.

What inspired you to get into the industry?

I’m a self-confessed social media addict (my daily screen time is pretty shocking), so it made sense to make a career out of it! I spent my university Year Abroad working for a small start-up in Frankfurt, where I was responsible for all social media and blog activity – and the rest is history.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

As a true 90’s kid, I’m a firm believer that you can’t beat a bit of the Spice Girls. I’m also a big fan of Coronation Street – there’s nothing better than curling up on the sofa after a long day to watch Corrie with a cuppa and a few biccies!

Out of the projects you’ve worked on, which has been your favourite?

Creating engaging social and digital content to promote airline inflight retail ranges. It’s always great to see a project through from beginning to end – from developing the strategy and shooting the content in our photography studio, to writing lifestyle blogs for the website and analysing their performance.

Who is your dream client?

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is one of my favourite Instagram accounts to follow – it just melts my heart. Starbucks also has such distinctive social content and a highly engaged community – every social media marketer’s dream!

What’s an up and coming social trend that we should keep an eye on?

Instagram Shopping – although features such as the in-app ‘Checkout’ are already used by several large brands, Instagram is set to roll out its ecommerce features across the platform more broadly this year. With customers able to buy products directly through the Instagram app rather than having to visit an external site, it presents a huge opportunity for brands.

What are 3 things left on your bucket list?

Swim with dolphins, ride in a hot air balloon and volunteer at an elephant sanctuary.

What’s your favourite spot in Manchester?

I love a good stroll around Salford Quays on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Having lived in Media City for two years, one of my favourite things to do in the summer was to grab a spot on the grass in the piazza and enjoy a cocktail (or two).

When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?

Watching my friend being pushed down the street in a shopping trolley on New Year’s Eve – don’t ask!

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

I’m not exactly a morning person, so usually it’s just knowing that if I get up at my first alarm (rather than my 7th), I’ve got time to grab a caramel latte en route to work!
